How it all started...

Life goes fast. Way too fast. We spend most of our time preparing for tomorrow. Getting ready for school / daycare / work. Running to the store before it closes to get the missing ingredient for tonight's dinner. Doing a million things in a single day without even taking the time to think if it's really necessary to do these million things. We go to bed thinking about everything that has to be done in the next few days. We organize every day of our lives because we want to do it all. At least that's how it is for me, and will be until the day we sail away for a year.

I travel a lot for work, and it can make my life very very busy and hectic. I still love my job. My son, not so much. One night that I was tucking him into bed, telling him that mom had to leave for a couple of days, again, he started crying. That broke my heart. I think that's when I realized what I was missing. I wanted to spend more quality time with my kids! Couldn't we just stop running for a little while? Not having to rush to one place or another?? So we started talking about how life would be if we were living on a sailboat. No where to be tomorrow...Just going where the wind blows.

This is how it all started for me. With a reality check offered by my son. Thank you Romain.
